Project
Farmhouse Renovation in Medford, Oregon
Scope
In the remodel of this home we addressed many chapters of life. The openness of the home reflects a sensitivity to varying needs of accessibility. Universal Design was a driving concern as this family was facing a multitude of changes.
The major renovation provided a facelift throughout the home. We merged the kitchen and den to free up space for an expansive cooking area and pantry that caters to sizeable gatherings with multiple chefs. The double ovens, large refrigerator and freezer, and three sinks, respond to the communal needs of farm life. The modern butler’s pantry, as large itself as a second kitchen, consolidates the essential appliances, coffee maker, toaster, slow-cooker – and includes an office with a garden window. The grand, open living and dining rooms allow the couple to share connection with guests, while the Master Wing’s bedroom, art room, walk-in, and two bathrooms – set off from the house by two hardwood doors – create seclusion from the rest of the house.
